The Warriors are heading back to the District 3 Class 1A Girls Volleyball Championship after a strong semifinal victory over Lancaster Mennonite on Tuesday night. In front of a packed crowd, Linville Hill battled through a competitive four-set match, winning by scores of 25–18, 20–25, 25–21, and 25–11.
The Blazers and Warriors matched each other point for point early, but Linville Hill put together a mid-set run that built separation. Linville’s attack forced Lancaster Mennonite into several errors late in the set, prompting a Blazers timeout at 14–18. LMH managed four more points, but the Warriors’ offense remained steady, closing the set 25–18.
Lancaster Mennonite answered back in the second, battling through early lead changes and capitalizing on short balls and tip opportunities. The strong start forced a Linville timeout at 8–14. The Warriors responded with five straight points, forcing a Blazers timeout at 14–13. LMH regained momentum with sharp swings at the net and a strong defensive stand, pulling away late to take the set 25–20.
The third set opened in another tight exchange, with both teams trading points and defensive plays. Lancaster Mennonite held firm at the net, but Linville’s serve receive steadied midway through, sparking the Warriors’ offense. A series of strong attacks from the outside led to a critical run and a Blazers timeout with Linville up 15–20. Despite a brief LMH rally, Linville’s poise and timely kills sealed the frame 25–21, reclaiming the match lead at 2–1.
With momentum on their side, Linville Hill came out firing in the fourth set. The Warriors built an early lead behind powerful serving and quick transitions, forcing an LMH timeout at 3–10. Linville continued to dominate all phases of play—passing, blocking, and attacking with confidence. Another Blazers timeout came at 11–20, but the Warriors’ control never wavered. Linville closed out the set 25–11, finishing the match 3–1 and punching their ticket back to the District 3 Championship to defend their title.
The win sends Linville Hill back to the District 3 Class 1A Championship, marking another milestone for the program. The Warriors will face the Ephrata Mennonite Legends on Thursday, October 30, at Dallastown Area High School for the District 3 title.
